Dongwei Li
1st Year Ph.D. student, interested in machine learning and computational biology.
Dongwei Li (1st year Ph.D. student, Computer Science) is pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Rice University. Dongwei holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Shandong University and a Master of Computer Science (MCS) from Rice University. Prior to her doctoral studies, Dongwei worked as a bioinformatics programmer at Baylor College of Medicine, where she focused on research involving large language models (LLMs), graph neural networks (GNNs), and single-cell data analysis. Her primary research interests lie in computational biology, with a particular emphasis on genomics. Dongwei’s research is funded by the Department of Computer Science at Rice University.
Outside of lab, she enjoys watching movies with her cat, Disco.
