Anika Patel

Anika (Rice undergraduate senior, Computer Science) is very interested in computational biology, and has taken related bioinformatics and machine learning electives. During her time in the Treangen lab, she has been working on characterizing gut microbiome samples using an autoencoder. She hopes to continue working on computational biology research after graduation and is joining the Rice CS department as a PhD student Fall 2025. Outside of academics, Anika enjoys photography!
